Joint Entrance Examination (Main) – 2023
Eligibility: There is no age limit for candidates. Candidates who have passed 12th/equivalent examination in 2021, 2022 or appearing for 12th examination in 2023 regardless of age can appear for JEE (Main) – 2023 examination.
* It has been revealed that the first phase will be held on January 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 and the last phase will be held from April 6 to 12. In the first one or two days, Paper-2 will be conducted for admissions to BARC and B-Planning courses, and Paper-1 will be conducted for filling BTech seats on the remaining days. The exam centers allotted to the students will be announced in the second week of January.
* The hall tickets will be made available on the website in the third week of January. Applications can be submitted from 7th February to 7th March for the last batch in April.
For admissions in NITs and Triple ITs…
BTech seats in NITs and Triple ITs across the country are filled on the basis of JEE Main ranks. To get into IITs you have to write JEE Advanced. Only 2.50 lakh candidates who qualify with the minimum marks in mains will be eligible to write the advanced exam.
This time the rule of inter marks
For the past three years, those who have passed the Inter with minimum marks have been given the flexibility to get admission in many NITs and TripleITs. This time again the rule of marks was imposed. NTA has clarified that regardless of the rank in JEE Main, SC and ST students must score 65% and others must score 75% in Inter.
Highlights..
* Exams will be conducted in 13 languages including Telugu and English. Other languages include Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Odia, Punjabi, Urdu. The question paper will be given in English as well as in the regional language desired by the candidates. Paper-1 will be for 300 marks and Paper-2 will be for 400 marks.
* Exams will be computer based. BARC students also have drawing test in offline mode.
* Exam will be conducted in two shifts. The first shift is from 9 am to 12 noon and the second shift is from 3 pm to 6 pm.
* Like last two years, the question papers will have two sections. In Section-B answer five out of 10 questions. There will be minus marks for wrong answers in both the sections.
* At the time of application, the students or their parents should give their mobile number and e-mail address.
