Class VI Admissions in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas | The Ministry of Human Resource Development has given an opportunity to apply for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test-2023 online till January 31 for the admissions in Class VI in 649 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV) across the country. The main objective of JNV is to improve the ability of students in all three languages Hindi, English, and Telugu, and to promote national integration through the colonial education system. There are 15 JNVs in Andhra Pradesh and 9 in Telangana. Students are selected through an entrance test conducted annually. Students selected through the entrance test are provided free education from the 6th to 12th standard. Different housing and accommodation facilities have been provided for boys and girls. Exam Details
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test-2023
Eligibility: To be eligible for admission the student must be a resident of the respective districts where Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is situated. Students should be studying Class V in Government and Government recognized schools in the respective districts in the academic year 2022-23. 75 percent of seats are allotted to students from rural areas. They should have studied 3rd, 4th and 5th standard in rural schools. The remaining 25 percent of seats are allotted to urban students.
Age: Applying students should be born between 1.5.2011 to 30.4.2013.
Entrance Test: The selection of students will be based on the marks obtained in the written test conducted by Jawahar Navodaya. The entrance exam question paper consists of three sections (Mental Ability, Arithmetic, and Language). A total of 80 questions for 100 marks will be the entrance exam of 2 hours duration. AP entrance exam can be written in Telugu/English/Hindi/Marathi/Urdu/Oriya/Kannada medium and Telangana in Telugu/English/Hindi/Marathi/Urdu/Kannada medium.
Application Procedure: Online application can be done through JNV’s official website. Candidates must upload a soft copy of the certificate attested by the school principal mentioning the details of the candidate in the prescribed format to apply online. Apart from this, the candidate’s photograph, the candidate’s and parents’ signatures, and Aadhaar details/residence certificates are required.
Selection Process: Seats will be allotted on the basis of the entrance test.
