Selection Process: There are two stages. In the first stage, the candidates will be selected on the basis of a written test, interview for intelligence and personality test, interview, medical examination, etc.
Exam Pattern: There will be questions from the English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics sections for a total of 300 marks at the rate of 100 per paper. The duration of each paper is 2 hours. Applicants for Officers Training Academy (OTA) posts are not required to write Maths papers.
Interview: Interview is crucial for these jobs. 300 marks have been allocated for this section as well as the examination. It will be for 200 marks only for those applying for OTA posts. The interview consists of two phases. If successful in this too, a medical examination will be conducted and they will be admitted to training on the basis of merit of examination and interview marks.
Training, Job: As per their preference and merit candidates will get opportunities in any of the Army, Navy, Airforce, or OTA. Those selected for the Military Academy are trained at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. Those admitted to the Naval Academy are trained in Ezhimas in Kerala. Pilot training for those selected to the Air Force Academy will be at Bidar, Elahanka, and Hokimpet. Candidates selected for Officers Training Academy posts will undergo training in Chennai. Those who complete the training will start their career with the rank of Lieutenant in the Army, OTA, Sub Lieutenant in the Navy, and Flying Officer in the Air Force.
