New doctors are coming to rural clinics. On December 7, the finance department issued an order allowing 1,492 people to be appointed on a contract basis. Accordingly, the Health Department has started an exercise to complete the recruitment process as quickly as possible. There are 4,745 health sub-centers across the state. The Health Department has already decided to convert 3,206 sub-centers into rural clinics. New doctors will be appointed in these. Another 636 health sub-centers are under the primary health centers and doctors are already available in them. The new recruits are known as ‘Mid Level Health Providers (MLHPs)’.

Recruitment Guidelines
- MBBS/BAMS qualified doctors will be considered to work as MLHPs in health sub-centers. MBBS will be preferred.
- If MBBS/ BAMS doctors are not available then B.Sc Nursing graduates passed after 2020 or B.Sc Nursing/ GNM before 2020 and completing six months bridge course in Community Health will be considered.
- MBBS/ BAMS doctors working as MLHPs will be paid 40 thousand per month and Nursing/ GNMs will be paid 29,900 per month.
- The eligible age is fixed as 18-44 years.
- Relaxation of five years for SC, ST, BC, and EWS categories and 10 years for disabled persons is applicable.
- Candidates who have passed MBBS, BAMS, and Nursing courses must have registered their information in the concerned councils.
- The recruitment process is conducted under the leadership of the District Appointment Committee.
